Vehicle City Harley Davison

Austin Parkway, Flint Twp, Michigan A new 21,000sf Harley Davidson Dealership adjoining an existing restaurant structure. The new addition incorporates a full motorcycle dealership including showroom, merchandise and a motorcycle service area. The second floor mezzanine consists mainly of offices and open spaces that overlook the showroom. The existing restaurant is proposed for future lease spaces. The project entailed producing final construction documents from conceptual drawings including structural and electrical engineering, coordination with the Mechanical Engineer and bid process. Responsibilities included Site Plan Approval through Flint Twp., construction administration and coordination with the Owner and California based Interior Architect.

Grand Rapids, Michigan, Lansing, Michigan, Chicago, Illinois Ethan Allen Retail Stores: We site adapt Ethan Allen standard design plans for competitive construction bid to new sites or existing buildings. Grand Rapids, MI Site adapt and 4,000 sq. ft. addition to 12,000 sq. ft. building, Lansing, MI 4,000 sq. ft. tenant improvement design center, and Chicago Illinois renovation of existing 16,000 sq. ft. building and design center.

Water’s Edge Bar & Grill

Argentine, MI A 4,400sf renovation of an existing restaurant. The renovation included a complete renovation of the dining room and kitchen areas. The project entailed drawings from conceptual phase to final construction documents. Responsibilities included obtaining local building approvals and health department approvals, and coordination with the Owner and the Kitchen Supplier.

Divine Dixie Diva B&B Catering Kitchen

Frankenmuth, MI A 1,375sf catering kitchen addition onto an existing 2,594sf bed and breakfast establishment. The project consisted of field measuring to produce plans of the existing structure and the surrounding site, and producing conceptual drawings to final construction documents. Responsibilities included submitting for approvals from local building officials, Genesee County Health Department, and coordination with the Owner and General Contractor.

T’Dub’s Restaurant

Frankenmuth, MI A 2,500sf renovation of an existing restaurant. The renovation included a complete dining room and kitchen renovation, including adding a pizza area in the kitchen. The project entailed conceptual drawings to final construction drawings, mechanical and. Responsibilities included construction administration and coordination with the Owner and the kitchen consultant Stafford-Smith Company.

Mittenhoffer, Indianapolis, IN Dollar General Retail Stores: We site adapt Dollar General standard design plans design/build construction to new sites or existing buildings including 15 locations in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois.

University of Michigan – Flint

Grand Blanc Academy

Hill Road, Grand Blanc Twp., MI Grand Blanc Academy School proposed to build a 14,000sf classroom, gymnasium and parking lot addition onto their existing 39,500sf school facility, also completed by our office. The project included conceptual planning to final construction documents including structural, mechanical and electrical engineering, bid process and project coordination with the Civil Engineer. Responsibilities included coordination with Civil Engineer and acquiring approvals from the State, County and Township Agencies.

George Washington Carver Charter School

Highland Park, Michigan An existing 21,800 sf school building with a new 14,800 sf addition. DSD worked with Sedgewick and Ferweda and the Owner to provide review of the completed electrical design for code compliance and utility service coordination. Responsibilities included coordination with the Owner and architect.

University Preparatory Academy

Detroit, MI The project consisted of renovating an existing 45,825 sq ft, four story, former medical arts building into an elementary school. The all concrete constructed building was originally a part of the Children’s Hospital medical complex on St. Antoine Street designed by Albert Kahn. Renovations included gutting the existing to accommodate the new floor plan, added stair tower additions for life safety and additional people load, renovation of one of the existing elevators and using the elevator shaft of the second elevator for supply and return ductwork for new HVAC system located on the roof, furring and insulating the walls and floor and replacing the existing sash to improve the occupants’ comfort and the building’s energy efficiency, and upgrading the electrical service by providing a larger service, wiring, outlets and lighting.
